A Wednesday walk

After a rainy day, on Wednesday June 17th, it finally cleared up around 6 pm. But it wasn’t until 8.30 pm we managed to get out of the house.
Since the forest obviously was soaking wet and it was a bit late, we decided to take the main path, which is lighted at night, through the forest.
The main path is very popular. Everyone uses it, joggers, bikers, parents with strollers. And folks walking their dogs…  But we got lucky, not many people were out tonight.
We saw snails though, lots of them! Small snails carrying thir houses, big fat black forest snails, big fat brown Iberia snails, and some big fat snails that appeared to be albino!? Weird…

Anyway, on our way back we met a man jogging with his dog, a Staff of some sort. His dog was only 10 months old and very playful like our Issi. As both dogs were on long leash, they got tangled up of course. We managed to unleash Issi, and whoosh! They both ran! And the speed they had! We all started running after them, but they were out of sight. Luckily they quickly came back, still chasing one another and not at all interested in us, their owners… They ran past us, straight into a marsh, splashing around still chasing eachother, having fun. Must say I felt slightly embarassed, as I HATE IT when people don’t have their dog on a leash.
After a few minutes trying to call them in, they did come back and we immediatly hooked her back on the leash.
The man with the Staff continued his way and we continued our way.

At least Issi was happy. She’d had a good run and really had fun with the Staff, so she was calmly walking alongside us back home. After she had eaten her food, she fell asleep for the night.

A tired Husky is a happy Husky! 🙂
